Meet Davit Hakobyan

Davit Hakobyan is one of Armenia’s most respected photographers, known for capturing historic moments, human stories, and cultural life with clarity, depth, and emotional honesty.

He began his photography career in 2002 and quickly established himself in Armenian photojournalism, working first with the Armenpress before joining PAN Photo, a leading Armenian photo agency.

Since 2010, Davit has served as the personal photographer to the President of Armenia, documenting official events, world leaders, and the everyday life behind the scenes of public service. His work blends editorial rigor with artistic sensibility, producing images that feel intimate, thoughtful, and timeless.

Davit’s photography has been featured in exhibitions in Yerevan, Moscow, Stockholm, New York, Warsaw, and Montreal, and his work has appeared in major publications and media outlets. He is also the author of published photobooks that explore Armenian life, landscapes, and identity.

On Shop Zartonk, Davit’s prints reflect his long career of shaping how Armenia’s stories are seen, offering collectors work that feels both personal and universally resonant.

"Photographs shouldn't stay in archives. Rather, they should live with people—among people."
